The Ensemble Opens "Gem of the Ocean"

Wednesday is your last chance to preview, Gem of the Ocean, by August Wilson.

The theatrical production centers around a fiery matriarch, and a young man from Alabama, searching for a new life. The essential qualities of strength, endurance, and community are the adhesives that connects the characters together, as he embarks on a spiritual journey to find a city in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

If you can’t make it to opening night: Jan. 31, remember the production runs thru– Feb. 24, 2008.

The final meeting for the urban corridor planning process will be held Wednesday and Thursday , January 30-31 from 6-9 p.m. at St. Luke's United Methodist Church on Westheimer.

The forums began in June 2006, with the intent to create new city ordinances to shape land development in the corridors along Metro rail lines. This will be your final chance to speak up and say if you want the project to be rushed or flushed.
