   H.E.B Thanksgiving Day Parade

When the city’s weather changes to crisp cool temperatures and tolerable levels of humidity during the day it signals that parades season is near. For over 60-years, rain or shine Thanksgiving Day in Houston has been punctuated by the startling crash of cymbals, rhythmic horn sections and the loud thumping of bass drums. The backdrop of brightly decorated floats, whimsical balloons characters and the cool music of marching bands can be reminiscent of a high school date.

                                           Uptown Lighting

For night time outings in November don’t forget to grab a jacket or sweater and spend plenty of time snuggling to share body heat. A trip to the Galleria area, a neighborhood that sits a few miles south of downtown along the edge of the Loop, is order after you have finished stuffing yourself with turkey. Houston’s first big yuletide celebration officially starts each year with the flipping of a switch in Uptown-Galleria. The suburban neighborhood ushers in the festive spirit for the holidays as merchants and homeowners try to outshine each other and the rest of the city with their brightly colored Christmas lighting displays.

A Romantic Date With Architecture

Houston is a hotbed of functional Southern architecture with long-term usage, ranging from "shotgun houses" and Art Deco theaters to modernistic architecture style buildings. Recent revitalization efforts were skirted around a handful of the remaining buildings displaying some of the architectural styles popularized in the 20th Century.

Couples with a passion for conservation of historic buildings and land preservation efforts get excited about:
The Houston Astrodome,
San Jacinto monument,
Williams Tower
They are amongst the most  impressive must see landmarks and monuments in the country.

There are some wonderful romantic views waiting to be seen from atop two big Houston attractions, the world's tallest monument/masonry tower and the 11th-tallest skyscraper in the country.

These are just a handful of the wonderful romantic places in Houston to go on a date. Couples new to the city can find out details about more upcoming,  free or low-cost events, festivals, concerts and more by visiting the links above or joining the I heart Midtown meet-up.
