What's Happening This Week in Houston

Bridging the present to the past is the central theme of Radio Golf and a specialty of Eileen J. Morris, the Ensemble's Artistic Director who directs this work from August Wilson.

It's Happening all this week on through October 19th.

The Ensemble Theater will surely draw Houston's theater crowd to Midtown Houston to partake of this unforgettable show that everyone will be talking about for a long time.

The play mirrors scenes from the closing decades of the 20th Century when African Americans, Lee Brown, Harold Washington and Tom Bradley were elected to head some of the nation's largest cities.

Harold Wilks figured he was the ideal man to get Pittsburgh added to the unprecedented list. That's only a one of the many contemporary scenarios that Wilson molded into his final work.

The director and performers vividly portray the struggles of African Americans on the journey to success tweaking their moral compass.

Free Stuff

We know that there is no free ride in life. Every site touting free stuff on the web require at least the time to take a survey or give your e-mail address. I have to report that another one of the free samples I’ve requested has arrived.
A perfume sample from L A M B. It wasn’t the small bottle I expected, but a
Swatch of the real thing.

Here is this weeks freebie. Some advice on using Google apps. Have you ever forgotten your flash drive and couldn’t show your work to a client? Using Google documents to create and store slide presentations and other work is a way to access your information from any computer with an internet connection. Try this free idea and let me know what you think.

Obama supporters pack Toyota Center

Senator Barack Obama brought the Obama’08 campaign to Houston’s Toyota Center, which is close enough to Midtown Houston for me to get the details for the residents who couldn‘t make it to the political pep rally.

The “Yes We Can “video was played as a prelude to the senators arrival, at the podium, to share his message about change. He spoke about change in the economy. Alluding to the need to stop giving incentives to corporations to dismantle factories and relocate the jobs in other countries.

He shared his ideas for health care. That everyone in this country, that leads the world in developing medical advances, should have access to quality health care. He stressed, yes, we can have, affordable premiums, co-pays and deductibles.

The supporters were not just the poor and middle class but there were several Houstonians sitting in the luxury suites that took time out of their busy schedules to cheer on the presidential hopeful.
