Ensemble Theater
The Ensemble Theater, one of the largest African American theaters in the southwestern U.S., It produces contemporary and classical works devoted to the portrayal of the African American experience by local and national playwrights and artists.
The Ensemble presents six plays each season that bring the rich cultural influences of African American theater to a myriad of Houston audiences. Vibrant and lively productions, like The Man Who Saved New Orleans. Or you can get involved with the tour education program, young performers program and other projects they produce to advance the artistic mission of the theater.
The artistic director Eileen Morris wears many hats at the Ensemble Houston, it's through her drive and artistic vision that molded the theater into a widely recognized, high quality performing arts venue.

Inprint
Inprint strives to inspire readers and writers in Houston. You'll be amazed and in awe of the talent and camaraderie of the local writers and poets in Houston during the "First Friday Poetry Reading Series".
The First Friday Series is the oldest poetry series in Houston and has been held monthly on the first Friday of each month since 1975.

Their workshops are open to individuals of all backgrounds, including those who are exploring creative writing for the first time, as well as aspiring writers who want to prepare work for publication.
They are considered Houston’s “Best Place for Aspiring Writers” (Houston Press) and are led by accomplished local authors, including students, alumni, and faculty from the prestigious University of Houston Creative Writing Program.
The Brown Reading series invites renowned authors to Houston, many for the first time, to share their work and insights. Each reading features an on-stage interview, followed by a book sale and signing.

The Progressive Forum
The Progressive Forum is a new model for civic speaking engagements that's more like a hotel luncheon combined with a performing arts flavor. Unlike many boring talking head events, their engagements are upbeat and appeal to a much larger audience and offer a higher quality experience. To set an elegant and dramatic background, their talks are held in Houston's finest theaters. Some of their speakers were Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. and Al Gore just to name a few.
They consistently bring some of the greatest speakers and minds in America, to Houston. Their topics range from advancing the success of the individual to vibrant discussions about our life on the planet. Houston gets to hear the brightest minds from every field of human endeavor imaginable, the sciences, humanities as well as politics and public affairs.
The Forum is a non-partisan organization that favors speaker's who can express their viewpoint while being enlightening, uplifting and entertaining.
