Houston Events February 2009

The bevy of events in Houston for February 2009 include a plethora of local activities in honor of Black History Month. Some of the places that are highlighting contributions of African Americans to this country are, The Historical Society, The Houston Public Library and several other local venues.
Here are a couple of truly special events that you will enjoy being a part of this week.

The Houston photography center ,Art Car Museum,Wortham IMAX- Houston Museum of Natural Science.

For anyone who has yet to get an upclose look inside of Minute Maid Park, February will be a great month to take a tour of the ballpark, home of the Houston Astros.

Fun things to do near Midtown Houston

The home of Houston's major league baseball team was built to reflect Houston's historical relationship with the railroads and features a vintage, full-sized locomotive that runs along 800 feet of track on the left-field wall.

The state of art ballpark beautifully incorporates modern conveniences like a retractable roof combined with classic features like red brick and natural grass.

This Week Enjoy Art and The Astros in Houston

Round 28 : Otherwise Constricted & FotoFest: "Look What a Woman's Got"



The mission of Project Row Houses is to create community through the celebration of art and African American history and culture in Houston. This week they’re sponsoring an artist meet and greet event.

Thursday come out and engage in a dialogue with Rabe'a Ballin, Phillip M. Jones II. The two artists collaborated to bring Houstonians an installation entitled “Behind the Seen”.
May 22, is your chance to ask them about their work and tour the installation. The talk gets going at 6pm at Project Row House, 2521 Holman Street.
