JAZZ COMING TO MIDTOWN THIS WEEKEND

The 7th Annual Trinity Jazz Festival is going to be jumping this weekend beginning Friday-Sunday, January 25-27, 2008 at the Trinity Episcopal Church, located in Midtown. Though jazz in the sacred context may be rare, it is a pairing that makes much sense.

One of this year’s highlights will be, The Four Freshman. Now in their 60th year of performances, the group continues to bring their unique brand of vocal harmony to audiences worldwide. Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys cited his favorite vocal group the Freshmen for the influences the group had on him as he grew up. The names and faces have changed a few times along the road, but the legendary sound continues.

The annual event emphasizes both the Midtown church's,(1015 Holman at Main)urban setting, and its commitment to artistic expression. Here is the address and number to call for tickets. Now there’s no excuse to be a couch potato this weekend.

LIVE BUZZ

How about it! They’ve is finally opened the CVS in Midtown, no more catching trains from the medical center to Downtown for those photos or prescriptions.

I’m sure glad someone finally did something about the Metro policeman that stopped the trains to check everyone pass instead of riding to the next stop while they checked the passengers.

LIVE BUZZ

This week school opened in the Houston ISD which is where most of Midtown Houston’s children attend school. I just want to remind everyone who leaves home between 7 & 9 am to watch out for the school zones and pay particular to the kids as they get off the school buses…If you watch out for mine, I’ll watch out for yours and we can all have a hand in keeping our loved one’s safe.

I would like to thank the people from Texas Medical Center’s MD Anderson Hospital, especially Elizabeth Miller. I participated in a research study named Project Colors, everyone there were helpful and friendly even though I was late for my appointment and got lost a couple of times.
