One of the Houston tours that gives a you an insiders view of one of the city's best known communities is the "Historic Heights First Saturday tour". This weekend tour in Houston, takes you on a fabulous jaunt of "turn of the century" and decades old restaurants, shops and homes in the area.

The "Historic Heights" is a revitalized neighborhood in the heart of Houston, that gives you the warmth and feel of a small town, in the heart of a big city. The historic neighborhood is a place where businesses thrive, children learn and play, and the city's history lives on.

The regular tours of the Houston community are from 11- 4:00 pm and last approximately 30-40 minutes. This monthly Houston tour allows your ample time to browse, shop or eat if you like.

After the tour you can stick around for the evenings main event, the exciting "White Linen Night" parties. Community members, art lovers and visitors are invited to wear white linen and take to the streets of the Heights to tour and discover the eclectic treasures in the neighborhood. This event celebrates the local art, culture, and community.

The nighttime affair will offer sightseers a host of businesses where they can enjoy cooling summer drinks, dining and entertainment. Many of the boutiques, shops, art galleries and some of the best restaurants in Houston are taking part in this annual event.

White Linen Night banners will identify the “sultry, steamy, exotic and artfully provocative,” participating shops, restaurants, galleries and bars. The Houston tour's evening edition, "White Linen Nights", features free pedi-cabs and shuttles for transportation around the Heights. And for a fitting end to a day-long Houston tour and a great event, you're invited to check out the after-party at, Block 7 from 10:00 PM to Midnight.
