Things To Do This Week In Houston Texas

pond and waterfeatures

Let's face it there's nothing that can excite the mind and lift your spirit, more than learning how to do something new. And you can learn few new things at several of the events that are happening in Houston this week.

This Week At The Houston Arboretum

Come learn how you can add resilient seasonal color to your yard and help reduce the flooding of your property. This D-I-Y class taught by Joe Blanton, the Houston Arboretum's Conservation Director, will bring you up to speed on how to design and construct a rain garden or small nature pond.

These eco-friendly water features not only attract wildlife, including birds, but are also beneficial to people. Classes start Wednesday, March 18, 2009: 7:00 -9:00 p.m. Don't forget to check-out the 60 plus Houston area native species plants that are on sale during the Arboretum's fundraiser through March 22.

What's Happening at The Laff Stop-Houston This week

One of the best ways to lift a hum-drum spirit is some old fashion, deep-seated laughter. According to a recent report, humor can improve memory, and help you be more creative.

Laughter is the best way to rid your day of stress. Stand-up comedian, Jimmy Roulette's is ready to cheer you up. His website says his blog is coming soon. But, you can catch him in the flesh.

His comedy crosses all boundaries –age, race, gender, it has no limits. He's crowd pleaser, whether he’s working with polished material or living in the moment,

Now that the secret is out, adding the Laff Stop to your "to do list" this week should be a no-brainer.
