The Big Easy


If you partying inside the Loop visit The Big Easy in Rice Village. They feature live Blues six nights a week with Sunday nights reserved for Zydeco.

The Big Easy host a weekly Blues Jam on Wednesday nights. The last Thursday of each month showcases the monthly Houston Blues Society Jam and The National Zydeco Foundation Jam is held on the last Sunday of each month.

2016 Mainstage


On Saturdays the headliner is Faye & The Mid City Players. pumps up the crowd with her high-energy, interactive performance Tina Turner, Earth Wind and Fire and other Soul classics.

2016 Mainstage is located on Main street near the Greyhound bus station in Midtown Houston. The crowd is an eclectic mix of young and old schools, just like the magnificent music that can be heard there.


House of Blues-Houston


Sunday’s Gospel Brunch is a one-of-a-kind live music and dining experience at the House of Blues in downtown Houston. It’s scrumptious all-you-can-eat southern style buffet features breakfast favorites plus a host of southern specialties.





Each Sunday different Southern gospel groups from around the Gulf Coast perform live on stage. The music, meal and memories are always uplifting and energetic.




Historic Market Square


Houston Downtown Management District presents Concerts at The Square: Friday night and and Saturdays the magic of music blankets Market Square Park this Spring.

Other fantastic events happening in the the historic square include the Alamo Drafthouse Rolling Roadshow at 8 p.m through May 16t visit the website for details.


Discovery Green





The Discovery Green Blues and Burgers is becoming a Houston lunchtime tradition. It a musical showcase chocked full of local talent and regional musicians that are known to blow some of the best sweaty jazz and blues south of the Mississippi Delta.

The Burgers and Blues Concert series puts a little music in your mid-day by starting around noon and lasting about an hour so. If you are anywhere near downtown or work in the area on a Wednesday from March to May don’t miss these must see lunchtime “free concerts in Houston.”

UH Thursday Concerts


The good times roll every Thursday evening May 3 - June 28, @6:30 p.m. Git yourself down to the Anheuser-Busch Stage and Fondren Performance Space at Discovery Green! Everyone in town will be rocking out to some of the best music of Texas and the Gulf Coast.

Funk, Hip Hop, Zydeco it’s a real musical gumbo that will make your feet want to do the happy dance which is encouraged, expected and exceptionally fun on grass. One side note that from the Discovery Green website that you should remember is that “photographs and video at the park for personal use are welcome provided their activity does not restrict public use of an area of the park.
