Free Events In Houston This Weekend
Mayor Bill White will give everyone the OK let's party signal, Friday night when he lights this year's Christmas tree. It's the official holiday bash to get the Houston's cheer into full swing and the it's free to the public.
Festivities are planned for Herman Square, 900 Smith St. musician, people and traffic will all be jamming, in full view of Houston's City Hall beginning at 6pm.
The downtown Houston event pays homage to all of the men and women who stepped up to the plate to meet the challenge of helping Houstonians recover from Hurricane Ike.
Lest we forget, spread the spirit of giving this holiday season, by remembering that some residents are still trying to regain their footing. Please bring a toy with you to the event and drop it off at the Reliant Energy booth at Hermann Square.
Time and space won't allow me to tell you about all of the free events happening in Houston but you can check out the details on some I recommend by following the handy links to their webspaces.
